Nestled on 60 rolling acres overlooking the Cannon River Valley in southern Minnesota, Red Gate Alpaca Farm is dedicated to the art and science of breeding exceptional Suri alpacas. Our setting is as intentional as our program—quiet, expansive, and purpose-built to support healthy animals, thoughtful breeding decisions, and long-term genetic advancement.

Since 2008, our sole focus has been the Suri alpaca, and over the years we have built one of the largest and most respected Suri breeding programs in the Upper Midwest. Our philosophy is simple: combine elite genetics, disciplined selection, and deep industry knowledge to produce Suris that excel in fiber, conformation, and longevity.

Our herd represents some of the most influential Suri bloodlines in the country, including MacGyver, Bruxo, Torbio, Inca, Uribe, Accoyo Camion, Condor, Black Chip, Angel, Kuma, Jericho, Hotazel, and MacGyver’s Armed & Dangerous, among others. These genetics form the backbone of a program built for consistency, predictability, and continuous improvement—whether the goal is show success, fiber production, or a strong foundation herd.
